Projects
Over many years, the funds we collected have been used to donate much needed items of equipment to the various departments in the Gozo General Hospital, including Rezidenza Sant'Anna, the Male Elderly Residence, and the Psychiatric Wards for the benefit of patients and staff. (See Donations and Loans section).
In 2009 we co-operated in the setting up of Meals-on-Wheels in Gozo and continued to be committed to run the cooking and delivery service for several years, including through the donation of a vehicle specifically for this purpose. The service is now run by the Ministry for Gozo.
We help also the homes for the elderly run charitably by the Dominican and Carmelite nuns in Victoria.
Since 2009, the FSEG ongoing project has been to cater for the needs of the sick and the elderly in their own homes by providing pressure-relieving mattresses, electrically-controlled patient lifters and variable-position beds.
The Equipment Loan Service (ELS) Project encourages and assists family members to care for bedridden patients at home and helps relieve pressure on beds for the elderly in hospital and nursing homes. In addition we continue to supply wheelchairs, walking aids, commodes, etc., which the hospital seems to have been unable to loan out for years. This project is now well established and expanding.
On 5th December 2010, with the help of Rotary Club Gozo, we opened a Storage and Distribution Centre at the M.A.S. Residential Complex in Ghajnsielem for our equipment loan sevice.
In 2018, we finally moved to a purpose designed property located in Victoria, courtesy of the Government
