The main functions of the society are to assist the sick and the elderly in every way and to help improve and increase hospital and home facilities available for the safety, welfare, comfort and convenience of the sick and the elderly in Gozo.

Nostalgia Night of Music and Art

his was a highly enjoyable convivial evening of operatic and neapolitan music, a small art show and a glass of wine with Rosabelle Pavia (soprano), Fabian Galea (tenor), Terry Shaw (piano), Jason Camilleri (trumpet) and Andrew Micallef (virtuoso chromatic accordeonist). Presented by Model Katrina (Mis European 2010) at the Ministry for Gozo Exhibition Hall, the attendance was over subscribed.

Charity Fair Philanthropic fair at the Victoria Gozo Football Ground (near the main car park) held on the last Sundays of each month (except June, July and August). Sell your unwanted treasures and buy desired ones. €10 to participate. |
Projects
Over many years, the funds we collected have been used to donate much needed items of equipment to the various departments in the Gozo General Hospital, including Rezidenza Sant'Anna, the Male Elderly Residence, and the Psychiatric Wards for the benefit of patients and staff. (See Donations and Loans section). We co-operated in the setting up of Meals-on-Wheels in Gozo in 2000 and are committed to run the delivery service evrey day in a vehicle we donated for the purpose.
Since 2009, the FSEG ongoing project has been to cater for the needs of the sick and the elderly in their own homes by providing pressure-relieving mattresses, electrically-controlled patient lifters and variable-position beds. This service encourages and assists family members to care for bedridden patients at home and helps relieve pressure on beds for th elderly in hospital and nursing homes. In addition we continue to supply wheelchairs, walking aids, commodes, etc., which the hospital seems to have been unable to loan out for years. This project is gathering momentum fast and is straining our resources.
On 5th December 2010, with the help of Rotary Club Gozo, we opened a Storage and Distribution Centre at the M.A.S. Residential Complex in Ghajnsielem for our equipment loan sevice. In 2011 we donated money to the Dominican Sisters' Home for the Elderly in Victoria, which was being extended, to cover the total cost of setting up a complete room, including an electrically-controlled,bed and a recliner armchair, furniture and furnishings.
